Megan Thomas has been a studio weaver in New Bedford since 2005, and moved her Maypole Weavers Studio to Kilburn Mill at Clark’s Cove in 2010.  Her studio is located on the second floor of the building in the future art section.

Megan has a degree from the University of Massachussetts Dartmouth in Multidisciplinary Studies / Textile Design and Technology. As an artist and designer, she weaves and fabricates goods and apparel with reclaimed fabrics, mill ends yarns and custom raw materials on refurbished floor looms, sewing machines and knitting beds,

Maypole Weavers is working mostly with woven goods at this time and currently has eight looms that range from antique to contemporary.

Maypole Weavers also mends and restores items for customers.

Megan has done demonstrations for the Handy House in Westport and has Open Studio Days.

Currently, Maypole Weavers has a display at the Westport Public Library in the Hellen Ellis Display Case for the Month of March.
